Magellan’s Passage in Simonstown, Cape Town, is about a celebration of discoveries, past and present. The Guest House is a tribute to the naval heritage of the Cape of Good Hope and its natural beauty, as well as the Mail Ship era which sailed South Africa’s shores.

Magellan’s Passage offers accommodation in six suites. There are two sea-facing suites and one luxury loft suite with 360 degree views of False Bay and the Swartkop Nature Reserve. There are also three mountain-facing suites with views of the Swartkop Nature Reserve.

The lodge uses a renewable energy supply, and is actively involved in the preservation of the Submarine SAS Assegaai, currently preserved by the SA Navy in Simonstown dockyard.

The ships of the S.A. Navy and Submarines sail past daily, and Navy Dockyard tours can be arranged.
