La Plume is a Boutique Guest House on a working ostrich, alfalfa and cattle farm with spectacular views of the Swartberg Mountains and the Olifants River Valley. A warm welcome awaits you at this charming 1902 Victorian homestead with its tranquil surroundings where Karin has combined old-world charm with modern comforts to ensure extraordinary service and personal attention.

La Plume offers stylish luxury with a diverse range of accommodation from Luxury Rooms, Cottages and Honeymoon Rooms to Superior Suites. With private entrances, sunny verandas and elegant, comfortable antiques, each of the 19 individually furnished air-conditioned rooms offer satellite television, free WiFi, mini bar and abundant comforts.

Apart from the private seating on your veranda from where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Olifants River valley, there are also numerous seating spots in the garden where you can leisurely get lost in a novel or just hide away for some quiet “me-time”…

Our bountiful English Breakfast buffet is the perfect start to a busy day with fresh fruit platters in abundance, a bread and cereal selection, cold meats and cheeses, as well as hot breakfast. Special requests made to order.

Enjoy exceptional local wine and traditional home-cooked cuisine by prior arrangement. Your four course meal is meticulously prepared by our chef and three home cooks and served in the spacious, candlelit dining room of the main homestead. The interior and spatial design of La Plume Boutique Guest House is one of Karin’s passions. Her love of space, colour and texture serves her well in the design and renovation of internal spaces, including structural alterations, furnishings, fixtures and fittings, lighting and colour schemes.Her eye for detail and enchanting antiques adds the finishing touches to the individually furnished suites and rooms as well as the communal areas, creating an atmosphere that is reminiscent of yesteryear.

Cancellations 6 days or less prior to arrival date, forfeit 100% of total stay. Cancellations 7 – 14 days prior to arrival date, forfeit 50% of total stay. Cancellations more than 14 days prior to arrival date, without any cost.
